For this project, we were tasked with creating an animatic for Spotify, celebrating an artist or song of our choosing on their homepage. The creative direction was entirely up to us, allowing for a deeply personal approach.

At the time, my home country of Nigeria was reeling from the horrific massacre of peaceful protestors by the Nigerian police. The event was devastating, with many lives lost, and it deeply affected me. I saw this project as an opportunity to channel my emotions and raise awareness about the tragedy. I chose to center the animatic around this event, using the powerful song "Monsters You Made" by Burna Boy and Chris Martin, which poignantly captures themes of oppression and resistance.

This project became a turning point for me, as it was the first time I fully realized the potential of art as a medium for emotional expression and social commentary. The animatic resonated with many, and to this day, my friends continue to share the video on social media during the anniversary of the event, which fills me with pride and a sense of purpose.
